Two of my favorite magazines have recently moved to online versions only: Spirit-led Woman and Today’s Christian Woman Mag.

For many, this probably isn’t a big deal. And considering that I’m online practically everyday, it shouldn’t be a problem for me either, but it is.

I want a magazine, something large, glossy, current, fresh, and pretty that I can hold, put in my purse,  carry along  to lunch, the dentist, or read while relaxing on the couch.

What I enjoyed about both publications was that they didn’t beat you over the head with the Word, it was there, but women spoke practically about their lives and how they applied biblical principles daily to their work, their families, and their struggles.

So what am I to do?

Read the articles on an itty bitty phone? No! It’s not the same.

Move my laptop to the couch? No, that’s not comfortable!

At school, in the office? I won’t have time.

Print articles off, one by one? No, I want them compact and in a little booklet, like they were!

So, maybe I just have to let it go.

And do some research…..there must be another monthly christian publication dedicated to women. Do you know of one?

I dont know of one, but I did want to comment that I to love to “hold” a glossy. Im the same way with books–I will never buy a Kindle, and I read A LOT. its something about having it in my hands, turning the pages–and in the case of magazines–seeing the pretty pictures that makes the experience worthwhile. I have about 10 magazines on my coffee table now. I’ll probably always subscribe and buy glossies–I hope they all don’t go extinct or web-only.

@DAnielle

Sorry but I don’t know of any mags in that category.

I def agree with you that online editions of magazines just are not the same as print editions. I’m a magazine collector and I’m gonna have to find a new hobby if mags keep going online.

Print mags vs carrying your laptop around;

To me print mags are hi-tech. I mean you don’t need batteries for them or a wireless connection. You don’t have to worry about dropping it and breaking it into a million pieces. You don’t have to worry about it being stolen. Magazines are amazing pieces of simple technology!

I hate it that they keep going online!

Was that a rant? Lol
